Dabie Mountain area which includes many cities is mostly poor, but it is well known as a famous red land. There are many red cultural resources. In Dabie Mountain it broke out the famous "HuangMa Insurgence" and "LiuDeng army trudged hundreds of miles to Dabie Mountain"; It is also has different kinds of former residence of celebrities, such as LiXiannian, DongBiwu celebrities in HongAn. There are many museums to commemorate the red culture. HongAn is one of full of red cultural resources in Dabie Mountain area, and it is well known as "general couty". It is the motherland of Republic soldiers which includes two hundred General and two Chairmen. Coming to the 12th five-year program, Great changes of the situation in Dabie Mountain have taken place. It is a worthy issue to study how to seize the opportunity, meet challenge and promote the development of red tourism of Dabie Mountain.The policy, which is about the economic and social development area of Dabie mountain old revolutionary base areas in 2011, is a beginning of the development in red tourism development in Hubei province. The article is about the research on the new situation of the red cultural tourism development and countermeasures in Dabie Mountain. First, the paper does some basic research, outlines the red tourism conception, content, function and meaning. Secondly summarizes the background and current states of study of red tourism. Thirdly analyses the purpose and significance of the study. On the base of the above, this paper begins to do some depth research of red tourism in Dabie Mountain. First analyses the background of Dabie Mountain red tourism development. Secondly analyses the new situation and propose three important questions. On the basis analyses of the above, the paper proposes three strategies to improve the development of red tourism. They are brand strategy, mixed-diversification strategy and the regional cooperation strategy. The paper also gives some advices from five subjects: thinking and understanding, resource development, product planning, marketing and management. These advises specific include:having a deep understanding of Dabie Mountain red tourism development; intending red cultural resources integrated development; planning different kinds and functions products; building Dabie Mountain brand; forming the red tourism industry cluster; building the whole image of Dabie Mountain; marketing by Large-scale tourism enterprises listed. The framework of this paper has six parts:The fist part is an introduction about the origin of the problem, the purpose and significance of the study;The second part is about the conceptions and basic theories in red tourism;The third part give a briefly introduction of the background of Dabie Mountain red tourism development, especially on the study of development situation;The fourth part analyses the three new situations and three questions which should be pay attention in the development of Dabie Mountain red tourism;The fifth part is about the strategies and specific suggestions;The sixth part is a conclusion.
