Nowadays,the foreign trade has become an important engine of economic growth and one of the main driving forces for the industrial structure of the modern economy. After having experienced reform and opening up for 30 years Shanxi'seconomic standard has achieved rapid development. But Shanxi's economic growth still depend on Coke, coal and other energy-based industries,the development of three industries is unbalanced。Shanxi's industrial structure difficult to adapt to long-term stable development of economy .Therefore, Industrial structure to become the problems of Shanxi'economic development. If Shanxi alone self-adjustment of industrial structure to achieve the goal of optimizing, the industrial structure will be a long and arduous process. In the March 13, 2011 China's State Council held a press conference,China National Development and Reform Commission officially approved announced a "national resource-based economy in Shanxi comprehensive reform pilot area." Shanxi is entering a new era full of opportunities to promote industrial structure level.If we stand in the international market perspective, foreign trade drive industrial structure optimized in a relatively short time, So in this opportunity of development , to study foreign trade and industrial structure optimization problems has became a has important theoretical and practical significance of research into the subject.The theoretical research on the foreign trade and industrial structure is in great amount, but many is pure of foreign trade or industrial structure from the Angle of oneself foundation. The study of relationship between foreign trade and industrial structure is still on the preliminary theoretical exploration stage. This paper attempts to breakthrough of the existing research results, in view of development characteristics of Shanxi foreign trade and industry structure, comprehensive study of Shanxi foreign trade and industry structure optimization effect problem. In the research method , This paper use the mathematical analysis,the mathematical model, and attempts to quantify study, make the research more targeted and get more research value.At the beginning this article explores theories of foreign trade and industrial structure. And then use unit root test methods, Granger causality test methods for effect analysis, The analysis shows the development of foreign trade can effectively drive shanxi's industrial structure optimization conclusionFinally, the practical measures about through shanxi,s foreign trade to promote the upgrading of the industrial structure is proposed .Put forward by shanxi foreign trade promote the upgrading of the industrial structure of feasible countermeasures, hoping Shanxi give full play the role of foreign trade and the real sustained and healthy economic development.
