With the rapid development of economic globalization, cultural globalization is also increasingly obvious. Western and Chinese cultures are experiencing clashing, exchanges and integration. The festival, as a kind of cultural concentration, also shows such development trend. In recent years, Western Valentine's Day, Christmas, Halloween and Thanksgiving are so popular in China. People, especially young people in cities rushed to copy the foreign festivals, which has become a widespread social phenomenon concerned by people. This paper intends to select Christmas, Valentine's Day and Halloween representative of"living","love"and"death"as an object, and the international metropolis Shanghai as a representative of this spread in China, try to make a comb about the background and development of the spread of three western festivals in Shanghai, analyze reasons of"heat of foreign festivals"and the resulting social impact, and finally make a further customs reflection on the development and transformation of urban festivals. Then it makes people realize that the mutual tolerance and integration of culture is the direction of development, and the ongoing cultural innovation is the key to keep eternal cultural vitality. Therefore, it calls that people should take objective and dialectical view to the prevailing winds of western festivals in cities.
