| With the rapid economic development, the process of Chinese urbanization is faster than before. The increasing number and expanding of cities, towns and the increasingly close economic links between cities increase the transport demand. Highway is an important sign of Traffic Modernization. With its own special economic and technical characteristics, highway has outstanding advantages in the transport capacity, speed and security, so it is an important component of the integrated transport system, and it has an important role in regional balanced development, socio-economic links between the city and the development of modern logistics.In this paper, on the base Central Place Theory, Traffic Region Theory and Grey Regional Theory, we research the dialectical relationship of highway network and the regional urban system, revealing the temporal and special interactions between highway network construction and development of urban system and the highway's polymerize and discrete action. And we illustrate the relationship between configuration of highway network and hierarchical structure of urban system. Based on these studies and definition of adaptation, we nail down the adaptation of regional highway network and the urban system, and described the content of the adaptation detailedly. According to the purpose of research and the principles of evaluate of adaptation, and on the basis to improve the traditional evaluation adaptability of the transport network, we build the evaluation index system of highway network and the adaptability's evaluation of the regional urban system .Finally, as the case of the Yangtze River Delta region, we evaluate the adaptability of regional highway network and the region urban system. And based on the evaluation results and the actual situation of the Yangtze River Delta region, we propose the specific measures in construction of highway network and optimizing the development of urban system, and this can provide a theoretical basis in coordinated development of whole region . |
