More than one hundred resource-based cities in our country, which accountingfor 20% of the total numbers of cities, are China's important energy and raw materialsbase and make a significant contribution for china economy. However, with the rapiddevelopment of resource-based cities, many kinds of problems have becomeincreasingly prominent, mainly embody in pollution of environment and waste ofresources. Thus cause resources reduction, ecological environment deterioration,population explosion, Laid-off workers increased, economy all-around atrophy, massincidents rise, and so on. Even some cities decay because of the resource exhaustion,which bring great negative impact in the development of the economy and society. Soit is urgent for us to research the sustainable development of these cities. There are alot of literatures in researching how the resource-based cities to transform the industryinstead of how to realize sustainable development, especially in the comprehensiveevaluation for the sustainable development of resources-based cities. Although someexperts does some research in this area, they just established the index system and putforward evaluation method. Less of them do empirical analysis . Based on the exampleof the empirical analysis in Qitaihe city, this thesis researches the sustainabledevelopment comprehensive evaluation in resource-based cities in order to enrich thesustainable development theory and method in these cities. Meanwhile providereference for other mining cities resource-based cities and professional industrial city,and improve the quality of the regional economic research and urban economicresearch.
