In the face of the globalization of economic crisis and increasingly fierce market competition, Chinese printing and dyeing industry can obtain better economic benefits to be invincible in the competition only by implementing information technology, reducing production costs, improving product & service quality and shortening market response time. In recent years, with the development of the associated modeling methods, solving technology and computing capabilities, the research of batch plants scheduling method has made great progress. Due to the fact that most research in this area is only related to metallurgy and petrochemical industries in its initial stage, this thesis aims to explore further. With respect to the continuous production, the automation and the management of the printing and dyeing batch production process are more complicated, therefore there are many problems yet to be resolved. Meanwhile, because of the increasingly obvious market demand for multiple specifications in small quantities and the accordingly increasing market share, the study of batch scheduling is not only of academic significance, but also of economic value. Currently, research in this area has become a hot issue in the field of automation, with continuous fruitful research achievements. The main contents are as follows:1. The research history, current situation and future development trends of the production scheduling are reviewed. An overview of the characteristics and research methods of the production scheduling problems is made. And several main production types and scheduling methods are introduced.2. The research situation of the batch production scheduling at home and abroad is reviewed. The classification of the scheduling and the different description methods are introduced, focusing on the MILP modeling approach based on the time slot in the continuous time domain.3. Taking the workshop production process in Zhejiang MIZUDA Printing and Dyeing Enterprise as the research background, this thesis not only analyzes the production features of the printing and dyeing industry, but also builds up a optimal deployment model, which is the MILP model based on the time slot in the continuous time domain. 4. This thesis not only defines the scheduling model parameters and decision variables and constraints description and objective function in the actual production of MIZUDA, and but also realizes semantically the MILP mathematical model based on the time slot in ILOG OPL Studio.5. On the basis of the solving of scheduling instances in the actual workshop production, this thesis analyzes the operation result set of each instance and the corresponding Gantt chart, and consequently demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the optimal scheduling model built up in the present study.6. Finally, the conclusions are draw and the problems to be further studied are discussed.
