At present, China's steel production industry is facing the phenomenon that high-end products production capacity shortage but low-end products is surplus, and the phenomenon of product homogeneity is serious, there are more and more competition among them. Improving the efficiency of steel production, product quality, and meeting the different requirements of customers has become the focus of concern to iron and steel enterprises.The transport of molten iron is an important part of steel production and an important mean to ensure steel product quality. It is the buffer interface between the ironworks and steelworks and plays a vital role to control the rhythm of the transport of molten iron. With the applications of"one ladle"transport, it enhanced the rigidity of enterprises production and made higher requires to the molten iron transport system. Iron and steel enterprises have also begun to pay more attention on scheduling of molten iron transport. The research of dispatching of molten iron transportation systems could analyze the characteristics of molten iron transport system based on the new process, optimize the operation plan of steel production, and improve equipment utilization and the quasi-point rate of the blast furnace production. Thereby it leads the iron and steel production tending to on time and reducing production costs and improving the competitiveness of iron and steel enterprises.This paper analyzed characteristics of molten iron transportation system based on the new process. On the basis of the result of analysis, establish the reasonable concept models of the molten iron transportation system, then realize corresponding simulation model with the Extend, which is based on the actual problems in the molten iron transportation system of some steel works.Then test the validity of this model. At last, do some simulation experiments based on the model. The simulation experiments studies the factors of effectting the molten iron transportation system, for example, the number of hot-metal bottles, the processding power of desulfurization stations and the transport capacity of the iron-steel interface car stations, and so on.The results of this study indicate that: The molten iron transportion system based on new process is a organic cycle whole, which integrate the transport of ladle with molten iron and transport of empty ladle, and has mutual influence and restriction between them. In this system, the number of hot-metal bottles should be controlled within a certain range, in this simulation experiment, whose reasonable quantity is 30. Too much or too little hot-metal bottles both cause adverse effect. If the number of hot-metal bottles is too little, the distribution of empty ladle will be not on time, and the time of tapping will be delay, meanwhile, the utilization rate of the Desulfurization workstation. If the number of hot-metal bottles is too much, more hot-metal bottles will be in idle, that would reduce the average utilization rate and the circulation efficiency. The production capacity of each station in the system directly influence the normal operation of the upstream and downstream stations, in all of these stations, the handling abaility of the desulfurization workstation not only influence the operationg frequency of the ladle seat with molten iron, but also, directly influence the circulation efficiency of hot-metal bottles and the on-time of distribution of ladle, which may well become the bottleneck of the system. Besides, the transport capacity of Iron-Steel interface car influence the on-time of tapping and the utilization rate of the Desulfurization workstation, which maybe also to be the bottleneck of molten iron transportation system. It can be also seen through the simulation experiments: Along with the increase of the number of blast furnace, the request for the coherence become higher, that have to coordinate the ladle with molten iron and empty ladle more carefully. If you want to improve the probability of being punctual, realize the just-in-time requirements of the steel production, you must dispatch the ladle with molten iron and empty ladle reasonably.
