The salt market is related to the national policy and people's livelihood, in the socio-economic field, it has always been an aspect of being respected by the people at any time. Yunnan region is one of the Chinese important salt production places. The history of the transport and sales of the salt is long, the source goes back to the ancient times. In this paper, by analyzing the progress of the evolution and characteristics of the salt transport and sales system during the Republic of China, I think Yunnan local government of the period of republic of China adjusts the policy of the salt transport and sales continuously according to the characteristics of the native area market and the people's need as well as the variety of domestic political situations.
