Since ancient times Yunnan is an important producer of salt, since the HanDynasty had clear historical records. Before the Qing Dynasty, the development ofYunnan salt industry has reached a relatively high level of the same period, especiallysince the Ming Dynasty, the government put the salt production and the salttransportation and sale as the important link of government policy, give height takesseriously, in Yunnan salt all facilities related to salt production and marketingmanagement mechanism. Since the Qing Dynasty, because of years of war ’s sake,Yunnan’s salt production suffered some damage, but the salt production in thenational economy still occupies a very important position. Especially in QingDynasty to the Republic of China year, the government relies on the extraction of saltfrom salt production course, strong support of government’s finance, to ensure thatthe local government, military spending and education, traffic lights and a series offiscal expenditure. In modern society, looking back on the past development ofYunnan salt industry history, we find from the Qing Dynasty in Yunnan between thesalt has promoted the development of Yunnan salt industry, resulted in theimprovement of people’s living standard, to ensure that the Treasury filling and localeconomy and social stability, but on the other hand, as a result of excessivegovernment attention salt tax on financial effect, make Yunnan each salt stove door inthe long-term excessive government taxation under pressure, in a certain period andunder government imposes a tax makes the salt people’s life difficult to continue.
