| As an industry newly appeared, the video website has developed for 5 years since 2005, during which it has come from the stages of starting-up, growing up, fierce competitions to one of the main leader industry in media market, and now it has stepped into a more fierce trend of sharp competition. How can the video websites survive from the embarrassing situation of dog-eat-dog, getting out of the user's needs- oriented modes and making profits highlights the importance of operation modes?The paper starts with the research on operation modes of Chinese video websites; firstly it shortly introduces the origins, costs, macro background and current situation of video websites, and then it reviews the developing history and experiences of video websites in both Chinese and American. It then investigates the market structure of Chinese video websites based on which it took the Tudou, Youku and PPTV as examples to analyze and discuss the current developing situations. After researching on the content modes and profits modes of those websites, it attempts to conclude the dilemma and developing direction of the whole video websites industry. Finally it brings forward some constructive suggestions. |
