Research On Application Of Lean Manufacturing Based On One Project About A Transferred Production Line At Standex Company

In recent years, having been impacted by the rise of labour prince and RMB's climb against the U.S dollar, many labour intensive enterprise are facing a tough business environment. How to promote the running efficiency and reduce running cost to adapt to the fierce external environment has gradually become the pivotal problem for these enterprises.This thesis mainly discusses the application of Lean Manufacturing, to increase flexibility, improve productivity and reduce operating cost to help labour intensive enterprise to solve above-mentioned problems.After propound the question, the chapter two is about the fundamental conception and the main idea of Lean Manufacturing, lay special emphasis on the important role of reducing inventory. Then, based on one project about a transformer production line transferred from Canada to TJ China by Standex Company, this paper analyzed the current situation of this operation, and raises the existing problems. And then, introduce two reform measures, and the net present value for each pattern. By comparing the results, the Lean Manufacturing pattern, which contributing to flexible production line, is shown to be the best option.At last, based on this project, this thesis introduces how to use Lean Manufacturing measures, such as"U"production line, Pull materials feeding system, Total Productive Maintenance, Training Within Industry, to reform the production line to improve enterprise's performance.
