In the management of modern petrochemical industry, choosing a reasonable equipment maintenance management policy can increase the reliability of system and save the maintenance cost.By using the stochastic mathematical model and simulation experiments, this paper studies the application of equipment opportunistic maintenance policy in petrochemical industry. It verifies the effect of saving system maintenance cost, and supports the decision making of equipment maintenance schedule in petrochemical industry.The equipments of petrochemical industry are a series system. And the production process is flammable, explosive, toxic and with high temperature and pressure. In this paper, an opportunistic maintenance model for petrochemical industry is set up. In the opportunistic maintenance policy, when one component is corrective maintained after failure, we operate the opportunistic maintenance work with the other component. In a system composed with increasing-failure-rate components, this policy can increase the reliability of the maintained component. The Monte Carlo simulation method is used to solve the model with MATLAB.According to the historical data collected from the industry, we choose the C101 hydrogen recycle compressor in the hydrocracking system to verify our model. From the result, we can find that the opportunistic policy will decrease system maintenance cost rate than the traditional preventive policy obviously.At last, the sensitivity of the model is analyzed in different maintenance cost and reliability. This reveals the usage of the model in different system.
