As a country of large population in rural area, our country pays much attention to the potential rural consumption market development which has extremely vital significance for domestic demand and rapid economic development. However, due to China's vast area, economic development in different areas vary greatly, especially the three regions (the eastern region, the middle region and the western region) of the rural areas, which leads to differences of rural consumption and the consumer's contribution to economic growth. Based on the theory of consumer economy and regional balance and non-equilibrium development theory, the paper analyzes the mechanism and the effect of consumption on economic growth, considers the state of rural resident's consumption and economic development, selects panel data model to analyze regional differences in rural resident's consumption and economic development by the evaluation method to analyze regional differences, and demonstrates rural residents' consumption effect of various regions on economic growth.This paper mainly analyzes the residents' consumption mechanism and its effect on economic growth theoretically; and analyzes regional differences of residents' consumption, economic growth and the influential effects empirically. The paper draws the following conclusions: firstly, rural residents'consumption and economic growth in different regions vary remarkably, and the regional differences are the main factors which affect the overall differences; secondly, there are stable influences between rural consumption and economic growth in each region, while their effects of rural consumption on economic growth are also obvious; thirdly, an effect of rural area resident consumption expending to economic growth is more in western regions, while an effect of rural resident' consumption structure on economic growth is more in east and central regions, and the more developed of the areas, the more effect of rural area resident of consumption structure improvement act on to optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure promoting. Finally, the paper proposes regional differentiation strategies to raise the rural consumption and then make rural consumption on economic growth effect maximization according to the research conclusions and the development characteristics, from the different perspectives, such as consumption idea, consumption level, consumption structure and consumption environment, consumption policy.
