In the era of knowledge economy, how to bridge the knowledge gap effectively becomes the key factor to the survival and the growth of enterprise. When virtual enterpise is choosed to bridge knowledge gap, the knowledge gap of leader's becomes the one of virtual enterpise, and it will affect the issues related to partner selection.Firstly, related theories are introduced, such as, transaction cost and its use in knowledge transaction, knowledge-based theory of firm, virtual enterprise and the advanced form of it, knowledge linked virtual enterprise, theory of learning curve and the conception of knowledge gap. Secondly, through the analysis based on learning curve and output-input of different tactics in bridging knowledg gap, it is figured out that virtual enterprise is a efficient and effective method, based on this, the conception of knowledge gap of virtual enterprise is put forward, that is when the leader in face of knowledge demand due to exogenous factors and endogenous factors, but the knowledge stock don't match the knowledge demand or the knowledge resource is not the best, we call the lack of knowledge, knowledge gap; then, the reasons why knowledge gap appears is analyzed, which includ bounded rationality, labor division, etc. The knowledge gaps are classified into three types, knowledge gap related to R & D, knowledge gap related to manufacturing, knowledge gap related to marketing, all the three kinds of knowledge gap are analyzed in detaile. The paper use VENN diagram to identify knowledge gap, and figure out that take advantage of knowledge structure diagram and knowledge distribution diagram to determine the knowledge demand and supply, the implement method is put forward in succession. Varies of virtual enterprise tactics are taken to bridge different knowledge gap. The partner selection model based on bridging knowledge gap, which is composed of two phases, the phase of analyzing knowledge gap and the phase of partner selection, isdescribed. Based on the research above, evaluation indexes of three kinds of partner are built up. The paper use evidential reasoning approach appraises the candidate partner, because the information in decision-making process is incomplete and uncertain. Finally, the paper put forward a case study. The case validates the partner selection model basically.
