Shandong Province is the biggest province of fruit production. Shandong Province enjoys more advantages than other provinces and good basis in developing apple industry . In addition to excellent natural environments, Shandong Province owns good social and economic conditions, such as advantageous geography position, facility transportation, excellent planting foundation and scientific research environments, abundant of labor force and a large number of consumers. And with the improvement of people's living standard , there will be huge potential demand for Shandong Province's fruits. Next, fruit processing products have promising prospect, not only to foreign consumers but to civil consumers, the needs for fruit juice, wine etc continue to rising. All these tell us Shandong Province should accelerate apple industrialization and sustainable development.However there are some questions in developing apple industry of Shandong Province. Such as content of science and technology in the agricultural production is very low; the total level of apple industry was still at the primary stage and the development does not balance. The operation scheme scale of apple industry was small and the competitive ability is very weak. The cost of apple production is high. The market is not mature now, the implementation of agriculture industry policy laws and regulations is not perfect; the sustainable development in apple industry in Shandong has not been realized and so on.The article proposes feasible countermeasures for the apple industry of Shandong in ten years'development on the basis of analyzing the apple market potential and the sustainable development strategy theory and profiting from the overseas experience and the pattern for there are many problems in it.
