Since 2000, large-scale regional tourism transport flow brings enormous pressure to the public passenger transportation in China. It is still a major obstacle factor to regional tourism development that the development of transport lags behind the changes in tourism demand. Facing the growing regional tourism flow, the tourism effectiveness of the use of public transport should be enhanced, the tourism transport infrastructure should be rationally allocated and improved, and the convenience and comfort of the regional tourism transport also should be improved. They are some theoretical and practical propositions needed to study in the progress of building barrier-free tourism zone.Therefore, on the basis of comprehensively analyzing the domestic and international research literature about tourism transport, a measurement model is built to inspect the tourism function effects in public transport system from the perspective of human geography, geography of tourism, transport network theory and regional economics, etc. Then, Chinese tourism transport is analyzed by the model, as a result, regional differences and current problems in the disposition of tourism transport are revealed. The paper takes Yangtze River Delta as an example to explore the optimum of regional tourism transport disposition and the corresponding responses.This text is divided into five chapters.Chapter one is the introduction. It mainly expatiates on the studying background, the meaning which the thesis studies, domestic and international relevant research, the train of thought and framework of this text.Chapter two is the theoretical foundation of the research. Many theories play important roles in guiding the research of regional tourism transport disposition, including the theory of interregional labor and trade division (such as cost advantage theory, factor endowment theory), the regional spatial organization theory, the core-periphery theory, the central place theory of traffic principle and theories related to transport network, etc.Chapter three is a macro-analysis of regional tourism transport disposition. It defines the meaning of tourism transportation and establishes a model to measure the tourism function effects in public transport system. Then, using the model and some related theories; it analyzes the conditions of tourism transport disposition in China and inspects the regional differences in the development of tourism and tourism transport.Chapter four is about the optimum of tourism transport disposition in Yangtze River Delta. On the basis of analyzing the current development of tourism transport and the conditions of tourism destination's building, it studies the disposition of tourism transport in this area. As a result, it reveals conspicuous conflicts of tourism transport disposition in this region and proposes some corresponding solutions strategies.Chapter five is the conclusions. This chapter summarizes four conclusions reached in the research of tourism transport disposition and give out some questions needed further study.
