Study On The MICE Industry's Space Pattern In Yangtze River Region

Exhibition Industry is one of the most important parts of modern economic. In order to make use of its great spillover effect, many countries look Exhibition Industry as a principal choice in developing economy. The cities in Yangtze River region also join in the drastically competition of Exhibition Industry. However, Exhibition Industry has its special location choosing factors. Only a few cities which occupy a good location can success. The paper tries to give the researches on Exhibition Industry in Yangtze River region a new angle of view.The paper will abstract the location choosing factors of Exhibition Industry though analyzing the practical experiences, contrast with its developing status in Yangtze River region by applying the research results to it, analyze the spatial pattern in this area, probe into the opportunities and chances, forecast the tendency of the spatial pattern there and bring forward the executive measures.The paper includes seven chapters. Chapter 1 reviews and summarizes the theories. Chapter 2 generalizes the macro-view, middle-view and micro-view location choosing factors though the theories and experiences of Exhibition Industry. Chapter 3 studies on the present spatial pattern in Yangtze River region, the types of the city spatial pattern, which include the primary city, the regional center, the regional node city and characteristic city, and their features. Chapter 4 points out the opportunities which 2010 World Expo brings forth and the developing challenges. In addition, it also gives out the tendency of this area's spatial pattern. Chapter 5 analyses the spatial pattern of the Shanghai's Exhibition Industry. It evaluates both the location advantages and disadvantages. Chapter 6 brings forward the advices to rationalize the spatial pattern in Yangtze River region. In Chapter 7 the paper summarizes the conclusions. It figures out that the Exhibition Industry in Yangtze River region would tend forward to cooperation, and form the rank circle structure which takes Shanghai for its core. At the end, the paper points out the shortages and the expectations of the future research.
