Research On Cross-region Industry Linkage Development Between The Cities Along The Yangtze River In Anhui Province And The Yangtze River Delta Region

The role of urban economic region in promoting regional economic developmentunder the context of regional economic integration became increasingly evident. Thecross-region linkage development could reduce the constraints of resources and factors ofproduction within a single region to a large extent, strengthen the industrial division oflabor and collaboration between different regions, and achieve rational allocation ofresources and regional coordinated development. The Yangtze River Delta Region is one ofthe most dynamic economic regions in China with fastest economic growth, while the citiesalong the Yangtze River in Anhui Province is one of the core cities groups in the rise ofcentral China strategy in recent years, provided with multiple advantages of location,resources, industry and others in strengthening the cooperation with Yangtze River DeltaEconomic Zone. Promoting the linkage development between the cities along the YangtzeRiver in Anhui Province and the Yangtze River Delta could be able to motivate fast andeffective development of the regional economy in the Yangtze River basin to some extent.The Yangtze River region in Anhui Province should build an industrial system withreasonable division of labor with the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone, accelerate theclose cooperation with the Yangtze River Delta Region in infrastructure construction andtechnology, finance and other key areas, build an unified and open market system, andaccelerate the multilateral cooperation between Anhui and Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghaito promote the rise of central China.This paper combines domestic and international regional linkage development trend,based on socio-economic characteristics of the Yangtze River region in Anhui Province andthe Yangtze River Delta Region, analyzes the basis for the two regions’ linkagedevelopment, and with the use of space gravity model and cross-region industry linkagepotential measurement model to measure two regions’ urban spatial economic linkages andcross-region industry linkage potential respectively, thus to make preliminary determinationabout the feasibility of cross-region cooperation between the cities along the Yangtze Riverin Anhui Province and the Yangtze River Delta Region and the condition of industrylinkage potential. By adopting analysis method of shift-share, analyzes two regions’cross-region industry linkage trend, explores the key areas for linkage development of the Yangtze River region in Anhui Province and the Yangtze River Delta, and promotescorresponding countermeasures and suggestions for promoting two regions’ linkagedevelopment, accelerating the rise of the Yangtze River region in Anhui Province,enhancing the comprehensive competitiveness of the central region, and promotingcross-region linkage.
