| Application of biotechnology and its industrialization in the medication and pharmaceutics field is the vanguard of modern biotechnology industry. Since the 1980s, the fever of development of biotechnology & pharmaceutical industry has been brought about all around the world.Firstly, the paper defined the concepts of biotechnology & pharmaceutical industry, the industry development model, reviewed a lot of related literature, and introduced classical theories on development model, which led to a general understanding of the biotechnology & pharmaceutical industry's status quo, development trend, characteristics and development mode. Based on this work, the paper put forward eight factors analysis frame: "one emphasis", i.e. industry emphasis; "three main parts", i.e. enterprise, government, and social agency; "four environment factors", i.e. technological R&D, risk investment, international cooperation and industrial park. By comparing America, European Union, Japan with china in eight factors of bio-medical and pharmaceutical industry, we could see that the gap between the advanced countries and China is very big.
