Multinational banks which are the results of international growth of banks are a kind of service MNE. The theory of the growth of multinational banks that is based on the theory of the growth of firm and the theory of MNE, added on the special character of banks is seeking the factors and regular pattern of the growth of multinational banks. The Resource-based theory of firm considers the firm is a join of resource that adapts itself to a specific growth direction. On the basis of former scholars'research, this paper offers the resource influenced the growth of firm more abroad content. We define resource included inside and outside of firms as various tangible and intangible factors which are belonged,controlled and used by firms in the course of being producing and servicing. The internal resource of firm contains three levels step by step, that is material resource,knowledge resource and organizing resource. The external resource of firm that influence the growth direction of firm contains all kind of economic,political and cultural factors. The internal and external factors influence the growth of firm together, in which the internal resource of firm is decisive effect and the internal resource of firm decide firms to use the extent and mode of the external resource of firm. Namely, the internal and external resources of firm both work on the direction or mode of the growth of firm.The international growth of banks are affected and restricted by themselves'resources, the resource of home and host country. The growth of multinational banks in the world is closely bound up with the metropolitan economy development and the economy conditions of host country. The process of the growth of multinational banks embodies a dynamical process that the internal resource and external resource of banks act on each other. Therefore, the paper is on the basis of theoretic studies of former scholars, deepening to recognize the concept of resource. We analyze various factors that affect the growth of multinational banks and give them an econometrical test. We have educed the internal resource of banks is a dominant role in the process of the growth of multinational banks and the external resource factors have uncertain influence on the growth of multinational banks.
