For the modern enterprises the outer environment has been a dynamic one where knowledge economy is gradually becoming the dominant economy. Those original competition models being based on industrial economy now can not satisfy the requirement for modern enterprises surviving and developing under the more and more excited competitive conditions. So knowledge management (KM) gradually became the theme of management theory research and practice. But now the KM strategy theory research lacks a systematic framework that neglected the combination of enterprises' interior advantages and outer position. So this paper tries to research the KM strategy that based on the combination of knowledge resource position and basic competitive advantage. We wish this paper could offer some good suggestions to the KM research and practice. This research work of this paper as follows: Firstly, the paper defines the procedure of KM strategy selection so as to offer a direction and steps for the later part of the paper. Secondly, the paper constructs a restraining framework of KM strategy selection and illustrates the important factor that affect KM strategy. Thirdly, based on the value chain, the paper constructs a knowledge chain, which is an important support and base for the KM strategy. Fourthly, the paper brings forward the model of KM strategy selection under the KM strategic restraining framework. At last, the paper constitutes some measures to guarantee the implementation of KM strategy. In a word, this paper tries to analyze and construct a KM strategy model by combining knowledge resources positions and basic competitive advantage, and attempts to integrate KM with traditional competitive advantage theory so as to offer a deeper theory support and maneuverability. We wish this paper will contribute to China's KM theory and corporation practice.
