The Economic Analysis Of SA8000 And Its Impacts On China Foreign Trade

The appearance of SA8000 symbolizes that humankind development is transiting from accumulation of capital and technology to human-oriented development and social accountability. Because of its moral and active feature, more and more countries, organizations and enterprises have accepted SA8000. At the same time, it is also be utilized for trade protecting by some developed countries against developing countries. Because the content of SA8000 focuses on labor standard in CSR field, it mainly influences the labor- intensive industries in developing countries. China, qua the biggest developing country depending on abundant labor resource, the implementing of SA8000 makes big impact on Chinese foreign trade. So, putting more efforts on SA8000 research, analyzing the economic impacts on Chinese foreign trade and searching corresponding measures, have become one of the important tasks of China economic development.This dissertation has five chapters. Chapter one is the preface, which elaborates the background, significance and relative foreign & domestic research status of this topic. Chapter two addresses the definition, background, content and characteristic of SA8000, and analyzes the developing status of it. This part is the basis of this dissertation. Chapter three provides the argument by several economics theories, and analyzes the long-term and short-term economic impacts of SA8000. This is the main point of this dissertation. On the basis of above chapters and combining the situation of China, Chapter four discusses the influence of SA8000 on China foreign trade, which including negative & positive two sides. Finally, Chapter five puts forward some suggestions to answer above impacts, which is demonstrated from three angles, government, enterprise and guild.
