Hotel industry has been regulated for a long time on market entry, pricing, investment and so on by the National Tourism Administration of China, several administrations, such as the State Administration for Industry and the Commerce of China and Ministry of Commerce of China, whose duty is to adjust the national market system, and even some administrations have no straight relation with hotel industry, for example the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration of China.This article tries to eye with Chinese hotel industry from a point of view of Regulation Economy, and answers that hotel industry should be regulated by whom, and how.According to the fundamental research methods of Regulation Economy, the article adopts case analysis approach, history analytical approach and interview method to study evolutionary progression rule of government regulation on hotel industry, and scheme out a suit of revised regulation mode.There are six chapters in the article. The first article introduces the background and general thought, and then makes a literature review. As a competitive industry, why is hotel industry be regulated in China? The second chapter will give a reasonable answer in Chinese certain economic and political conditions. The third chapter is the point of this article. It looks back the regulations on hotel industry in China after the reform and open-up policy, and concludes some major characteristics. The forth chapter presents some valuable regulation mode in other countries for reference. In the fifth chapter, the article gives some advice on the hotel regulation in China. The last chapter sums up the main ideas of this article, and puts forward the innovations and limitations of the article. And there are some valuable researches that the article failed to study.
