An Empirical Study On Core Competence Of Chinese IT Listed Companies

This paper introduces the theory of core competency and meanwhile defines the concept of core competency. The core competency of the corporation is the capability taken on one or several taches of value chain. It can create value prized by clients, and carry through the purchase function of corporation more effectively than rival and difficult to be repeated or replaced firsthand. Then this paper analyzes the character of china IT trade and limits the bound of IT trade. With the study result of others, this paper formed measurement system of IT list companies'core competences and put forward hypothesis that the core competency of the corporation has positive correlation with company performance and growth for IT list company. At the same time an empirical analysis is made in this paper by the factor method and regression to study the relation between core competence and company performance and growth. At last this paper brings forward some advice to cultivate and upgrade the core competency of the corporation by the result of empirical analysis.This paper includes six parts. In the first part, it introduces the research background and the present research situation of core competency theory domestic and overseas. In the second part, it defines the concept of core competency. In the third part, it analyses the present situation and the characters of IT trade, meanwhile limits research range and research object. In the fourth part, it builds measurement system of core competence of IT list companies in China and put forward hypothesis. In the fifth part, it makes an empirical analysis on the relation between core competence and company performance and growth of IT listed companies in China. In the last part, it brings forward some advice to cultivate and upgrade the core competency of the corporation based on the result of empirical analysis.
