Under the situation that the domestic and international everyone are contesting the resources and rob and racing to control of economy system madly, it is more important that how to advance the city competition ability, to strengthen the ability of attract various economic resources, to occupy the beneficial position of economic competition in district, speed development of city economy, get the drop on others.Daqing is a resources city rising with the large-scale petroleum exploitation and using, which have the important strategy and foundation positions in our country economy construction and the petroleum distribution of industry. Through the development of more than 40 years, after long-term high produce and steady produce of oil, Daqing stride the development stage of mixing the mineral area economy with the city economy, and just develop from the mineral district of singleness mineral type toward the center city of comprehensive function type. Face various plight and obstacle that can keep the continuable development of the city, Daqing was concerned widely and attached important highly by everyone. Daqing was the 41th in national cities competition rank in 2003, though it's rank was at the front correspondingly, but how to scoop out and made use of the existing advantage well and to form the new advantage continuously is still an important problem.This thesis starts from the analysis of the city competition ability theories, research domestic and international city competition ability related theories and practicing of the city competition ability evaluation; Adopt the main composition analysis method, and carry compare research to 20 cities including Daqing; Analyze in detail advantage and inferior position of the city competition ability of Daqing, find out the concrete and deep-seated reason, and putting forward practical path of promoting the city competition ability.
