With the globalization of economy and competition any single enterprise must face the worldwide challenge and is impossible to depend on itself to keep the competitive advantage. In order to adapt the changing environment they must give up using the traditional strategy and improve their existing organizational structure. And one way is to form an alliance. This article discusses the deep level driving force of the strategic alliance and the strategic alliance creating competitive advantage's method and theory, and combining with the case proposes the suggestion of China developing the strategic alliance.First, based on the enterprise resource theory and value theory, it discusses the deep level driving force of establishing the strategic alliance. As network organization the strategic alliance can positively use outside resources to realize the strategic target. The enterprises in the strategic alliance cooperate mutually on the value chain, change the cost status or create the unique value, and so create competitive advantage because there is resources sharing, the ability supplementary and the knowledge shift and innovation between the alliance enterprise.Furthermore, it discusses the method and theory of strategic alliance creating competitive advantage. The strategic alliance can re-deploy dynamic, efficient and characteristic new value chain and the value system compared to the original value chain to create the enterprise competitive advantage. Not only that, through changing the enterprise resources and ability the strategic alliance can create and keep the competitive advantage during interacting with the industrial environment. Then, it discusses the macroscopic factor and the microscopic factor, which influenced strategic alliance's success, and analyzes the strategic alliance's process management.Finally, with the case of Haire, Qingdao beer and Qingdao Port it analyzes the current problem of China's strategic alliance, and put forward some suggestion.
