The Analysis And Implementation Of ERP Application In CH Company

Corrugated box manufacturing is a traditional manufacturing industry. Since second half of 20 century, corrugated box has been selected as first packaging type by most uses, because it is lower in price, lighter and easier to struck, easier to be printed, suitable for more usage and less harm to environment. Basically , the business circulation of corrugated box manufacturing is "order-design-production-stock-delivery" .This business type makes the industry a service one rather than a production one. More intense market competition and more changeful customer requirements demand higher accuracy and actual effect in management. In this point, the traditional management does not fit the demand. Management information is inevitably admitted into today' s corrugated box manufacturing enterprises. Based on the study of undergraduate courses in School of Mechanical Engineering, Nanjing University of Science & Technology and the practice of ERP implementation in corrugated box manufactlring by the writer in recent years, taking CH company in LanZhou as an example and introducing the process how this company implemented ERP management information system successfully and the experiences from the process, the writer tried to discuss the topic of management information in this unique manufacture industry in this thesis. Firstly, the writer introduced briefly the history and present conditions of corrugated box manufacturing and the market environment in which Chinese corrugated box manufacturing is working and analyzed the urgency of carrying out management information in Chinese corrugated box manufacturing educed by this market environment. Secondly, after the analyzing of the unique condition of corrugated box manufacturing, the writer pointed out that some ERP management information systems that have unique industry features should be introduced into this industry, which would be workable and effective. The writer described and analyzed the functions of this kind of system. Finally, the writer concluded that by the example of CH Company, it is an effective and powerful tool by implementation of ERP management information system with unique industry features for Chinese corrugated box manufacturing to face the challenge from the market and it is necessary and urgent to do that.
