Study On Securities Brokerage Business In China

The scope of business of security companies in our country mainly includes securities brokerage, investment bank, asset management and investment consultation, of which the traditional securities brokerage business is the main source of income of security companies. Particularly under the condition of overall fall of security industry since 2001, the dealer business and asset management shrink drastically, even suffering loss on loss, and the investment bank business halted due to state stock reduction--no such business took place since August, 2004. The income of brokerage business is relatively stable because of the dispersal of investors, the proportion ascending and the absolute quantity descending. The operation management of brokerage business is inefficient, so we cannot manage brokerage business in traditional fashion, instead we must create a new situation through the transition of brokerage business.The idea of this thesis comes from practice since the author is engaging brokerage business in the security department. There are problems existing in current brokerage business. Persons and companies in security industry are now thinking how to improve brokerage business, although there is no successful brokerage mode in current fluctuating market due to the constraint of domestic security market. The research of brokerage business innovation increases, but such research almost doesn't include actual systematic brokerage business. The contents of this paper are to combine management theory, efficiency theory and the analysis practical experiences to show that the key lies in improvement of operation management efficiency and to analyze the main problem of operation management and brokerage modes home and abroad to get an idea of brokerage business operation. The conclusion is that for most security companies, it is necessary to find brokerage business management notion and system based on basic operation management in order to improve actual management efficiency and to apply them in practice in order to get a new mode of brokerage business operation management with Chinese characteristics.
