As an important symbol of a country's economy level, the machinery manufacturing industry takes on an irreplaceable important role in promoting the social technology progress and industrial upgrading. From the founding of the nation, China pays much attention to the development of machinery manufacturing industry, and has become a great international manufacturing country. Marketing activity takes a vital role on ensuring the machinery manufacturing industry a stable and healthy development. The research, which is on the competence model of marketing personnel in machinery manufacturing industry, can be referred to recruitment, training and performance management for marketing personnel.Firstly this article reviews the present research on competence theory. To completely understand the concept of competence model and its application, we comprehensively summarize the research on competence theory from behavioral school, general school and cognitive school. And this thesis also reviews present study on competence theory from human resource management and organization behavior theory. Then based on the human resource management overall frame in machinery manufacturing industry, this paper analyzes how to concretely introduce competence model into the frame, thus establishes a strong theory base for competence model constructing.Then, this article, based on the discussion on the marketing personnel competence model design idea and steps in machinery manufacturing industry, concludes that the basic factors of the competence model are general core competence and professional core competence. The general core competence includes good basic talents, communicating ability, logical analyzing ability, coordinating and promoting ability, developing ability. The professional core competence includes marketing information analyzing ability, product technology and knowledge, team organization and management, marketing planning and decision-making ability, marketing plan executing ability. Then by the qualitative analysis on the relationship between staff performance and competence model, this paper concretely describes the mean and behavior performance of the foregoing ten items.Finally, this article summarized the main research conclusion, the innovation, the research limitation and further research direction.
