The Studies Of Development Of China's Processing Trade Under International Intra-product Specialization

This paper studies the issues of China's processing trade's participation into international intra-product specialization, rethinks traditional theory of comparative advantage, analyzes the situation of our processing trade in intra-product specialization and provides some suggestion about how our processing trade to cope with the new situation of intra-product specialization.First, on the basis of the analysis of the international intra-product specialization theory, the paper rethinks traditional theory of comparative advantage, and discusses the relationship between the international intra-product specialization and the processing trade. The writer puts forward that processing trade is one of the main ways to realize the international intra-product specialization. Through the theory of modeling, the conclusion is proved that the participated nations can improve their welfares, get benefits and accelerate the upgrade of their trade industry.Secondly, the current situation of China's processing trade under intra-product specialization is discussed, and some characteristics of China's processing trade are summarized as follow: foreign-invested enterprise is the principal part in our processing trade; the increment rate of our processing trade is increasing; the increasing speed of processing with imported materials is faster than that of processing materials supplied by clients; the structure of exported goods is being improved gradually.And then, the quantity and structure of China's processing trade's participation into international intra-product specialization are analyzed. Though the analysis of quality, we conclude that the grade of our processing trade's participation into international intra-product specialization has been increasing since 1983, complied with the trend of world intra-product specialization development, and the situation has been comparatively steady since Deng Xiaoping's south visitatorial talking. Through the analysis of structure, we conclude that the important way of our processing trade's participation into international intra-product specialization is that we imported mass middle-product to assemble finished products(mainly consumable) and exported finished products(mainly consumable). Meanwhile the trend is strengthening.
