The Study Of Jiangsu Industrial Cluster Based On The Perspective Of Foreign Direct Investment

Under the background of globalization, informationization and networklization, industrial cluster has become the main theme of global industrial development. Industrial cluster has become the main measure to rationalize the regional industrial organization and accelerate regional economic growth. However, the small corporations'cluster has been paid more attention than FDI-formed cluster in industrial cluster study history. Compared with the small enterprises'cluster, FDI cluster is more advanced in the internationalization. A great quantity of data and cases indicate that FDI cluster is more helpful to promote both industrial competitiveness and regional self-strengthening FDI absorption. As China is one of the largest FDI attraction countries and now under the needs of adjustment of the industrial organization, it's meaningful to discuss the relationship between FDI and industrial cluster.The paper combines theories of FDI and industrial cluster. Based on the supply-chain theory, it illuminates FDI forms industrial cluster by absorbing suppliers and assembling local enterprises, and further promotes the technological upgrading of industrial cluster through linkage effect, demonstration effect and competition effect. Next the paper demonstrates how the industrial cluster aids to absorb more FDI: the features of industrial cluster such as stable social capital, scale economy advantage and unique innovation networking make it different from the basic location advantage. The industrial cluster aids more actively to attract FDI through reducing cost, increasing efficiency, providing brand advantage and abundant study resources, etc. Based on the theory study, the paper selects Jiangsu province to make empirical analysis. By means of interrelation degree calculation, multiple regression model and grey relational analysis, the paper argues that FDI makes an active effect to developing and forming manufacture cluster and meanwhile the industrial cluster factors influence the absorption of FDI positively. Finally, through detailed case analysis of Suzhou electronics and information industrial cluster, the paper proves the above theory and empirical test, and illustrates explicitly the interaction relationship between FDI and industrial cluster in Suzhou electronics and information industry.
