Study On The Present Condition And Development Of Information Industry

Today the world has deeply recognized the importance of information industry. The competition between countries in information industry has become more and more intensive. The information resources become one of the most important resources in country economy, and refer to the key factor to decide the national productivity improving and economy increasing.This Project is one of the sub-items of << Nan Tong Eleventh-five-year Information Industry Developing Program>>, funded by Nan Tong Science and technology Bureau. The purpose of the project is to analyze the corresponding achievements of Nan Tong information industry by investigating the statistic development data in past few years and the present condition and situation of Nan Tong in this field, then to offer the guide line for further development on more scientific base.The work consists of: to define the weight of information industry as an industry in the world, its research systems, and its economic features; the basic development situation of information industry in China, the character of Chinese information industry, and the business distribution of information industry in China; the development level of whole information industry in Jiang Su province; a comparison picture of the information industry development level between the cities in Jiang Su; the recent development of information industry in Nan Tong and its urban analysis based on information; the SWOT matrix model analysis on development condition of information industry in Nan Tong; and the suggested patterns of information industry development for Nan Tong.The article emphasizes on discussing present conditions of the information industry in Nan Tong. Comparing the information industry development levels of 13 cities in Jiang Su province and based on macro-environment of information industry development in china and in Jiang Su, the paper augurs a detailed situation of the information industry including the electronics and information industries in Nan Tong, then studies Nan Tong information industry with two procedures---quantitative analysis (index method based on information) and qualitative analysis (method of SWOT matrix model).Finally, several development patterns for Nan Tong information industry have been proposed. This research result has been written into"Eleventh-five-year development program of Nan Tong information industry", a conclusion report of the Project. And it has been approved by the Science and technology Bureau of Nan Tong. Some of it has been submitted to Development and Reform Committee of Nan Tong as policy references for regional development program. The result is highly evaluated.
