Relative to the overseas development situation, the development of the shopping mall industry in our country lag relatively and there is deficiency both in shopping mall's construction theory and investment developers' experience. As a result of it, there is few successful case of shopping mall in China.In view of this situation, this article utilizes the domestic and foreign retail trade's theory and method to launch the analysis to the location selection work of domestic shopping mall. Via the research we draw the conclusion that at present domestic shopping mall's construction lacks of unified plan, the layout in the position choice is unreasonable as well as method of location selection is out of date, etc. In the base of overseas experience, separately puts forward corresponding proposal from the developer angle and the government angle to the domestic shopping mall's location selection, thus provides method and theory reference for the internal commercial real estate developer in decision-making of location selection, which can reduce the developer's blind behavior, further avoid such problem as commercial real estate project leave vacant or the management after sale in a poor situation caused by the unfitted location selection. It has quite practical significance to reduce repeating construction, wasting resources, and to promote our country's real estate market develop in a continuable condition.The professional, scientific nature of shopping mall's location selection is the main aspect which this article emphatically elaborates.
