Job satisfaction is the degree to which employees like job. In regard to its relations with work motivation, performance and intention to quit the organizations concern this concept seriously. One purpose of this research is using western job satisfaction. Another purpose is handing employee's emotional characteristics as determinants of job satisfaction so we can know how these factors affect job satisfaction and compare the results with previous western research. The results shows that the global satisfaction level of Chinese is lower than the western norm. In details, the scores of "Moral values" , " social service" and "co-workers" are relative high and"compensation" , " advancement" , " supervision-human relation" and"responsibility" are lower than others. In regard to the determinants, the positive affectivity has significantly positive contribution to job satisfaction but negative affectivity doesn't. Two emotion regulation manners: reappraisal and suppression don't show direct affection to satisfaction. But reappraisal relates to positive affectivity and job characteristics positively. It shows that reappraisal may facilitate job satisfaction implicitly disregard its weak direct relation with job satisfaction. The five core job characteristics: job feedback, task identity, autonomy, skill variety and task significance entirely show significant contribution to job satisfaction. In the final section, the author analyzed these result and took a preview of further research.
