The Sino-Canadian economic cooperation developed steadily during the past two or three decades, and the relationship entered into a new historical phase after the exchange of visits between the top government officials and signing of a series of trading and economic agreements in 2005.This paper tries to study the bilateral economic cooperation trend based on the trading and investment analyses. In the aspect of trading, the two countries started their formal trading relationship from 1961, China became Canada's second largest trade partner, forth largest export market and second largest import country in 2003, while Canada became China's tenth largest trading partner. Further more, the trading structure has seen remarkable progress. By maintaining the traditional structure as grain and nature resource products taking a larger share, the proportion of high technical products has been rising quickly; meanwhile, China's export structure to Canada also has been optimized. The main export goods have been changed from primary products to industrial product represented by household electrical appliance, machine and transportation equipments. By using the RCA index analysis on the Sino-Canadian trading status quo and in the past 10 years as well as mutual complementary characteristic, this article summarize several sorts of trading products to reflect the trading trend and structure.
