Research In The Relationship About Scale And Benefit Of Commercial Bank In Chinese

The purpose of this dissertation is to analyze the reason and effect of the scale expansion of our bank industry at the present stage, to point out the reasonable boundaries of the Chinese commercial bank industry and to make some suggestions on the different development strategies to Chinese commercial banks based on their scales.This dissertation availed of the models and methods of overseas bank scale research and made reference to the native research results. it builded quantitative models especially designed to fit the characteristics and environment of Chinese commercial banks and made conclusions through analyzing these models. It also explained and demonstrated the scale of Chinese commercial banks with the existing data.It started from introducing the status in quo of Chinese commercial bank industry, analyzed the condition and results of the scale expansion of our commercial bank industry and then discussed it's economic effect. The conclusion is that all the banks in our bank industry have gone through expansion of different levels, but the results tend to be unsatisfactory. On that basis, it made the judgment that the executive level in Chinese banks had scale preference. Through building and analyzing a series of Cournot Models of Chinese bank industry, it reached the conclusion that bank scales are bound to exceeding the ideal level when banks get maximum profits in the condition that the executive level has scale preference.With the development of the bank industry, the scales of the newly developed joint-stock banks will further expand. However the existing of risk factors will contain the expansion trend. Then it discussed the optimal scale of Chinese bank industry. Through analyzing the characteristics of the banks of different size and building a loan supply market model, it reached the conclusion that the banks of different sizes in our nation can stably coexist and made suggestions on their different development strategies.The structure is as below, Chapter 1 raised the main subject that this dissertation aims to explore, it looked back on the important literatures about bank scales and enterprise boundaries and summarized the whole dissertation. Chapter 2 analyzed the reasons and results of the executive level-scale preference of Chinesecommercial bank industry. Chapter 3 analyzed the process of scale expansion of Chinese commercial bank. Chapter 4 analyzed the pertinent issue of Chinese commercial bank boundaries. At last it summarized the research result of the whole dissertation and put forward the matters for further study.
