A Study Of Land Scale Operation’s Economic Benefit And The Optimal Scale From The Perspective Of Farmers

Abstract:Since the reform and opening,China began to introduce the household contracted responsibility system,then rural economic development has made remarkable achievements.However,most areas have distributed land in view of the population or labor.Thus there are formed a phenomenon that farmer’s operation area is ultra-small scale.according to statistics, the average size of land management only0.13-0.53ha in FuLing.It is less than china’s average size of0.53-0.63ha.the land is fragmented.And the actual land is smaller than the indicated statistic.The average land plot per household is8.8.The small size of land has restricted the development of rural economy in FuLing.The implementation of large-scale agricultural production,specialization and intensive management has become essential.The development of appropriate scale agricultural modernization, industrialization not only is the final steps and towards,but also the inherent requirements of the development of agricultural productivity.Land moderate scale operation can promote to use high technology in agricultural production and attract investment in agriculture, thus contributing to improve the agricultural production and economic efficiency.Implementing appropriate scale of land,encouraging farmers to work on the third industry,amassing land have more practical meaning. In addition,the paper has the respective of micro-farmers to research land scale operation.This not only has the theoretical significance,but also has special practical significance in China mountain.Paper is based on field research in FuLing District of Chongqing Municipality.Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, applying the principal component analysis method, the weighted summation function method, linear programming model and the overall balance method, respectively the household land scale influential factors, the economic assessment of large land scale and farmer’ moderate land scale were analyzed. Firstly, the theoretical research base of land appropriate scale at home and abroad are introduced.Referencing to the physical geography,social-economic,land use and land management scale status,the influential factors about land scale operation have been analyzed. The main factors include agricultural labor force status, agriculture compare the effectiveness of low land resources, rural land transfer, rural social security, the difference of the rural social service system, government policies and farmers economic goals, agricultural production equipment, etc.. Then economic benefits of land scale operation in Fuling were researched from the number to the space. In present scale,famers’economic benefits has the towards to increase with the scales’increasing. And in different districts, land use scale and economic benefits are all different. On these basis,applying two models to quantify the farmers’land modest operation scale,the results showed that the optimal size was4.57acres.Finally, appropriate countermeasures targeting the current scale land management problems are put forward, and they include promoting land transfer and surplus rural labor’situ transfer, improving the quality of the rural labor force,establishing the social market service system and rural social security system, choosing the appropriate organizational form and so on.
