Nowadays, as an new organizational form of joint ventures and an effective path to innovation, research joint ventures (RJVs) have been well-acknowledged by the eastern and western world. Under the economic background driven by innovation, the increasing development and perfection of this new form of joint ventures have been an inevitable and incontestable trend all over the world. The formation and development of RJVs, as anything else, have their own restrictions and influencing factors, among which, culture, as an important part, plays a vital role. Considering the correlation between innovation and RJVs, the thesis focuses on the impact of innovation culture on the formation and development of research joint ventures, discussing the importance of innovation culture to RJVs through the methods of induction and demonstration. Meanwhile, it gives reasonable suggestions and deductions on how to select effetive partnership before the formation of RJVs so that the chances of establishing RJVs successfully could be better off, and on how to reduce the costs brought about by the conflicts of different innovation cultures after the formation of RJVs.The formation and development of RJVs in China have not yet been promising. Under the background that Chinese economy is booming intensely, we are expected to absorb any kind of organizational form serving the development of our socialist economy. Today, with the fast updating of the world's technology and the unending outcomes of innovational researches, those countries who neglect technological researches and innovations are bound to be abandoned by the world. Research joint venture is a new form of organization and effective way of technological innovation. In the world of developed countries, the governments and companies have long since recognized the significance of RJVs, providing much support through regulations and fundings. Companies, too, have been trying their best to seek partners, making good use of the opportunities and conditions endowed by the time. Nevertheless, the formation of RJVs is held back by many inner andouter restrictions and influences. Besides the particular policies, capital and the like as the main restrictions, culture is a significant influencing fator as well. Culture, in a broad sense, comprises rich meanings and contents, which make culture hard to be classified. With a view to the fact that RJVs are innovation-directed companies, the author put the focus on the relation between innovative culture and research joint ventures, abstracting the core point from the relation beween culture and joint ventures, trying to draw people's attention on innovative culture—an important cultural brach through justifying the influence of innovative culture on RJVs, inspiring the formation and development of RJVs in China, and encouraging the domestic and international coorperations and institutions to invest in RJVs unitedly. The suggestions given in the thesis could hopefully be meaningful and serviceable for those could-be participants of RJVs.The originality of this thesis is that it logically relates the innovation culture to RJVs. Besides, the author defines and extracts two big branches—values and regulations—as representatives and components in the anylasis, which might seem too brave and reckless. However, given the present absence of the domestic and overseas studies in this area, the idea and boldness may as well be encouraging and promising. Anyway, what's for sure is that no matter to whatever degree this thesis could achieve the original goal, the author will go on working at this problem to perfect it, not only for my personal interest, also for my beloved country as well.
