The physical labor intensity refers to the tense degree of the physical labor, is also the labor force consumption degree in the same time. The classification of physical labor intensity belongs to the edge discipline; it not only belongs to the work hygiene, but also belongs to the important content of human engineering in the industrial engineering specialty. The research of the classification of physical labor intensity was started in the early 30's of 20 century in overseas, because the industrialization was later than that in overseas, and the human resources are rich, it was started in the 50's in our country.Along with the reform and open policy and the economical development, the enterprise's scale is expanding unceasingly; the worker's troop is also expanding unceasingly. Under the benefit actuation, the partial enterprises often don't give a thought to worker's benefit. This displays in unreasonable worker's payment and safety problem. The physical labor intensity classification is an important way to solve this problem.The oversea material indicated, when using energy metabolism rate, lung ventilation quantity, oxygen consumption capacity and the heart rate to classify physical labor intensity, should consider such factors as sex, age and environment and so on. At present, the physical labor intensity standard which is announced by National Bureau of Standards is using the survey lung ventilation quantity to calculate energy metabolism rate. Because this survey method is quite tedious, the instrument is expensive, and it disturbs the worker's working, it has not been able to obtain the widespread application in the factory, and its classification standard and the calculation formula have not considered the influence factor such as sex, age, and environment and so on. This topic's goal lies in the discussion of which factors should be considered when using energy metabolism rate, oxygen consumption capacity, lung ventilation quantity or the heart rate to classify single item physical labor intensity, or using labor intensity index or energy metabolism value to classify physical labor intensity, and establishes the science, reasonable classification method after considering these experimental factor, Proposed with the method of surveying heart rate to calculate the oxygen consumption capacity, the lung ventilation quantity as well as the energy metabolism rate value, to enable the physical labor intensity classification standard to obtain the widespread application. This article was divided five chapters:The first chapter introduced the research significance, the present research situation as well as the question which are appeared in our country.The second chapter introduced the basic physiological knowledge when did physical activity, as well as the expression and measuring technique of physical labor intensity, discussed the history, development and existence question of physical labor intensity classification in detail.The third chapter considered four kind of influencing factors such as the choice of test installation, the experimental technique, the measured person and the environment which may affect the classification with the energy metabolism rate, the oxygen consumption capacity, the lung ventilation quantity or the heart rate. Through the analysis of the trial survey data, has formulated this topic's experimental technique, and determined which factors need to be removes in the experimental process, calculated the sample number which needs in this topic experiment. This article will discuss the sex factor which influences the classification with energy metabolism rate, oxygen consumption capacity, lung ventilation quantity or heart rate graduation. The fourth chapter obtained the male and female mean value of the heart rate, the oxygen consumption capacity, the energy metabolism rate, the lung ventilation quantity, the oxygen pulse and the oxygen ventilation equivalent under each load separately, as well as the male and the female maximum value of the heart rate, the oxygen consumption capacity and the oxygen ventilation equivalent, and analyzed its difference;Simulated the relations among the heart rate, the oxygen consumption capacity, the lung ventilation quantity, the energy metabolism rate with the curve respectively.The fifth chapter according as the reducing of the acting efficiency responded by the organism oxygen pulse depression, the oxygen ventilation equivalent increasing, cardiac output depression as well as the non-oxygen threshold appearance when the measured man moving; obtained the value of the heart rate, the oxygen consumption capacity as well as the energy metabolism rate when the oxygen pulse separately depression, the oxygen ventilation equivalent increase, cardiac output depression as well as the non-oxygen threshold appearance, and referred to the beforehand scholar's division method to classify the physical labor intensity. The difference among this labor intensity classification method and that of the scholar's lies in it distinguished sex factor.
