Study On The Contribution Of Human Capital In Jiangxi Economic Growth

Since the proposition of "Developing in The Central Area of China", the economy of Jiangxi province has achieved remarkable growth. The western new economic theory has proven that human capital is the top factor contributing to the economic growth in the western developed countries and emerging industrialized countries. Then, how much does human capital attribute to these years' rapid economic growth of Jiangxi province? And within the guidance of this conclusion, how will the economy see the sustained growth in the future?Following this idea, the thesis take the theories of human capital, the new economic growth, statistics and econometrics as the foundation, unifies the qualitative analysis and the quantitative analysis, and using the methods multivariate statistical, econometric and dynamic analysis to compute the contribution of human capital to the economic growth of Jiangxi Province with evaluate the stock of Jiangxi human capital comprehensively.The thesis is unfolding in four parts:Part 1 is the introduction. Mainly focuses on the background and its significance, and what is going to be discussed and how that is going to be done with both the national and international reference. Part 2 define the notion of human capital and introduce the economic models containing the factor of human capital, by analyzing the connection between it and economic growth. In Part 3, A measurement will be carried out for what extent does the human capital in Jiangxi Province has contributed to its economy and it will be conducted in two steps: Step 1, the stock of human capital in Jiangxi province can be calculated through a handy method of calculation by building up a comprehensive and overall index system. Step 2, how much does the human capital has done to the economy could be concluded and analyzed by combining the economic models which have been introduced in part 2. Part 4, based on the aforementioned conclusions, this thesis have made some constructive propositions on how to improve the store of human capital in Jiangxi Province.And the conclusions that have been made from this thesis are as follows:First, since 1987-2004, the relationship between Jiangxi provincial GDP and its factors follows Cobb - Douglas Productive Function well. And the models which have been built under the condition of the function have proved the substance capital and human capital have much to do with the aggregate economic growth.
