The construction sector is the labor-intensive one and the employee responsibility management is one of the key areas in the construction sector. Currently, strengthening the employee responsibility management is the global trend and it caters the need of national sustainable development strategy. Moreover, it expresses the common goal of the enterprises in the construction sector and particularly improves the competitiveness of Hunan No.6 Construction Company. Hunan No.6 Construction Company is one of the oldest and largest stated-owned construction companies with more than 10,000 staff. The thesis is aiming at improving the company's competitiveness, laying the foundation on SA8000 certification and setting the good example for the companies in the construction sector in Hunan Province.The whole thesis comprises of five parts: firstly, it introduces the study background and purpose, which illustrates the necessity of the study; secondly, it explains the theory of SA8000, which provides guidance for further argument; thirdly, it describes the current situation of the employee responsibility management in Hunan No.6 Construction Company and has a follow-up analysis. In doing this, the thesis reaches its conclusion, that is: the employee's human rights fully satisfy the requirement of SA8000; the employee's labor rights basically satisfy the requirement of SA8000; However, the management system needs to be enhanced; the company should provide more opportunities and incentives for employees. Finally the thesis provides the suggestions and corresponding measurements based on its findings and issues.
