With the subscription of WTO and successful bid for 2008 Olympics of our country, construction industry, as one of our country's four pillar industries in national economy, has witnessed a pronounced lift in both its status and importance in the national economy. The construction industry in our country, which has just stepped into a special development period, is enjoying increasing wide attentions.Life-cycle theory and other relevant strategic theories were employed, by which the characters of the construction industry in different life-cycles were studied and the effects of competition and development strategy on its growing were analyzed. The financial indexes were categorized into three parameter groups, i.e., time, period, and curvature, which were employed to characterize the different life cycles. A tri-parameter analysis frame was proposed based on the analysis of competition and development strategies of different construction enterprises. It was concluded from the studies of this thesis that different growing strategy should be adapted in different life-cycle phases in order to enhance the core competitive edge. The tri-parameter analysis frame proposed for the enterprise' life cycle was verified being applicable and operable.
