The Influence Of Industrial Updating On Foreign Investment In Jiangsu

Jiangsu is the large province of manufacturing industry and importing foreign capital (FDI) in our country. How to utilize foreign capitals promoting the upgrading of main industry of Jiangsu,it is a great subject concerning the whole province and even national economy of developing lastingly, steadily, healthily, and fast.A large number of theories and researches which take qualitative analysis as main method reveal that the entry of FDI can exert an important and positive influence on the industry technological progress, the improvement of productivity, and even optimization of the whole industrial structure of the host country or target area. The influence contains technological input, technology overflow, as well as knowledge overflow etc. But estimate for the target with the ration of influence degree and the research of one main industry of particular area, are still rare at the national level. This thesis draws lessons from the research results of relevant fields, and establishes the system of evaluation index. By estimating the means dailily and analysis based on a large number of statistics, materials, it regards main industry of Jiangsu province as the target. The concrete test utilizes influence of the foreign capitals progressive to the industry and influence degree. It is the basic work of utilizing the foreign capitals to promote industry's progressive research, and has actual meaning and certain academic value.This research has innovations in three aspects.First, it draws lessons from the existing research results and construct the target appraisal system about how progress foreign capital makes in its tragic industry; Second , it centers on the target in research, Through the collection of a large number of statistics, materials, arrangement, classification, sum up and calculation, I do a little basic work in this respect; Third , it takes manufacturing data of thirteen cities as the sample, according to Jiangsu Province yearbook from 2001 to 2004, through establishment of regression model and panel analysis to research the spillover effect of foreign investment in Jiangsu′s manufacturing department.
