With the introduction and development of logistics, our government and many companies have realized that logistics can reduce the cost of products and do a lot of benefit to the society. And some logistic establishes are built. How to make full use of them and to improve the efficiency of logistics become the key problem. Basically, to improve the efficiency of logistics relied on the improve of the efficiency of every logistic aspects, and the storage logistics is one of those.Storage logistics is one of the most important systems of logistics, and in order to make it fluently, a good operational system is a must. So it is very important to find a set of methods to choose a rational operational system. And therefore the order picking system, which is the core system of storage logistics, is researched and the rational operational system choosing method is decided based on simulation.The function and the structure of the storage system and the basic knowledge of simulation are introduced first. Then the significance of simulation is analyzed. So the paper uses the simulation method to build a model and get the proper picking strategies, picking route and storage strategies to improve the storage efficience.The picking strategies are the picking methods after receive the picking order. The single order picking and batch order picking are compared and the arithmetic of batch order picking is given. By showing a proper example of the warehouse, a simulation model is built and by running the simulation, the two picking strategies are analyzed and compared.The picking route are routes from the P/D point to the storage zone. The traversal, return, midpoint, largest gap and composite routes are analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively.
