Objective:This study investigated the consumers and corporations of functional food by random sampling survey in Shandong province, analyzed the cognition and consumption of consumers about the functional food, the production and management of functional food corporation as well as functional food consumption influencing factors in order to direct the consumption and development of functional food and provide the basis of establishing the laws and supervising and management of functional food.Methods:The stratified sampling and cluster random sampling methods are used in this survey. We sampled 800 consumers of functional food and 72 corporations of functional food.The main contents of this survey are : 1. the general information about the consumers of functional food; 2. the cognition of functional food consumers towards functional food; 3. the consumption of functional food consumers; 4. the general information about the corporations of functional food; 5. the making of the staff of the corporations of functional food; 6. the management and production of the corporations of functional food.First of all, make a descriptive analysis about the content surveyed, then the affecting factors of consumption towards functional food were done through using Logistic regression model.Results: 1. 79.9% and 58.2% consumers know the functional food mainly through TV and radio,newspapers and magazines; 2. 72.9% consumers are skeptical about the function of the functional food; 3. knowledge of functional food of consumers are mainly in the moderate level; 4. the consumption place is not the significant factor of the expense of the functional food; 95.8% consumers purchase functional food for themselves or their family; the main options of consumers towards the functional food are supplement of nutrients, regulation of immunity ,improvement of memories,...
