Industrial convergence is an inevitable stage in economy growth and structure of industry upgrade. This paper tries to study the competitiveness of convergence industry to traditional industry by researching into two problems: the market demand of convergence products and employment effect of them. From the market demand aspect, on one hand, the demand-income elasticity of most convergence industry is high, which means convergence products will have extensive market with the improvement of people's income, so we can expect that convergence products have great market latent capacity. On the other hand, the major of convergences-digital products, would make the consumers gain more utility through sharing ,which names network externalities but not belong to traditional products may make convergence product monopolize market once its market share come to a certain value. From the employment effect aspect, as outcome of high technology, convergence products will cause double employment effect: the non-equilibrium development between the manufacture deep permeated with high technology and quality of laborers will bring a shock to the manufacture depending on an advantage in cheap labor during a long period; the increasing return capital value in economy growth by the promotion of convergence industry will encourage more and more enterprise to join it, which will bring forth more employment opportunities. The government should culture, encourage ,support convergence industry to better providing fine institution environment and market environment ,promoting demanding growth of convergence products ,carrying out reasonable manpower planning , distributing correctly educational resource, setting up employment structure conforming to the industry structure.
