A strategy is a kind of mode and orientation of thinking, a means of achieving the goal of a business, which decides how the leader of the business observes the surroundings and in the mean time makes full use of its own business resources. HSBC Group, with a history of more than 140 years, has practiced an internationalization development strategy since the 1980s. After the more than twenty years of development and growth, he has now ranked among the most important banks and financial institutions of the largest scale in the world. HSBC Group transcends the traditional and the modern, taking the heterogeneity and homogeneity between the Chinese and the Western cultures as resources, growing up in the communication, the conflict, and the melting of the two cultures. Faced with several critical turnings points and running-ins, HSBC Group has converted the impossible into the possible, eventually creating a miracle in the financial service in the world. In this research, taking HSBC Group as a case study, the Balanced Scorecard as the navigator, through analyzing the four performance measurement perspectives of finance, customers, internal procedures, and learning and growth, it is attempted to explore the missions, the values, the vision, and the strategic map of HSBC Group, for the purpose of understanding deeply the ways HSBC Group establishes its field of value and its evolution, and to provide a brand-new, whole-set and dynamic model of the Corporate Value Reporting.It is demonstrated in this study that the balanced development in the value field is the essential change for HSBC Group to keep its leading competitive status and endeavor resolutely to develop itself into a world-leading financial service institution. In addition, the Balanced Scorecard is not only a system of measuring the performance, a framework of strategic management and a valid communicating means, but also functions as a navigator for exploring the value of an enterprise, developing into the model of Value Reporting, and revealing the values of an enterprise.
