| Status of township agro-technical extension system in Zhenping County of Henan Province, such as development of agriculture, change of township agriculture technique institutions and personnel composition due to township government organizations reform in 2005 are investigated. It is showed that the age and record of formal schooling of extension staff composition are optimized, the extension staff is simplified, social insurance and employed mechanism are developed and function is definituded The existing problems in agro-technical extension systems are relatively little importance is attached to agro-technical extension by local government carders, lack of sustainability of extension staff team construction, lower speciality skills and irrational knowledge composition of extension staff, little extension funds paid and improper administrative system and operation mechanism.Based on the survey of farmers, agriculture-related enterprises and extension staffs, roles and problems of and chances and challenges to township agro-technical extension work in Zhenping County are analyzed. Referencing advanced method abroad, some suggestions on developing township agro-technical extension are put forward, which are construction of diversified township extension system and regional extension station, reform of agro-technical extension funds investment mechanism, increase of quality of extension staff and farmers and enhancement of agro-information service network. |
