Fujian Liquefied Natural Gas Project Analysis

Eastern of Fujian province has developed Economy, high population density, but lacking energy sources, strong pollution press threat. it is very necessary to adjust or optimize structure of energy, increase supply of clean , high quality and effective energy in order to ensure safety of energy supply and promote harmonious develop of economy, energy and environment. eager need of Fujian province citizen,industry, generate electricity give a market term to importing Liquefied Natural Gas(for short LNG).Fujian LNG project phase I construction includes LNG specialized jetty, terminal, trunkline, five city municipal gas-fired project and three gas-fired generate electricity plant. Phase I project started in April 2005. The designed capacity is 2.6 mtpa, It's expected to be completed by the end of year 2008. The design capacity for Phase II is 5 mtpa and will come on stream in the year 2012.The consumer of Fujian LNG project phase I are five city municipal gas-fired project, these are Fuzhou municipal gas-fired project , pution municipal gas-fired project , quanzhou municipal gas-fired project, AMoy municipal gas-fired project and zhangzhou municipal gas-fired project; three gas-fired generate electricity plant, these are pution municipal gas-fired generate electricity plant, Amoy municipal gas-fired generate electricity plant and jinjiang prefectural gas-fired generate electricity plant. After steady period, the amount of gas that consume by five city municipal gas-fired project will be thirty percent of all imported, and the amount of three generate electricity plant using will be seventy percent.Unit cost of LNG is lower than other energy gas, as citizen daily live gas, LNG has obvious economical advantage. Base the results of research of LNG that importing from southeast of Asia presently, LNG is difficult to compete with coal or heavy oil in price. But it is cheaper than light diesel oil. When the environment protect become more stricted with, using of coal and heavy oil should be order to increase investment to clean drainage, at that time using of LNG has more economical. At present, it is trend to using LNG in developed country which want to protect the environment.
