Recently, the research on competency model is one of the critical issues in psychology,human resource management and pedagogy。In China, however, the relative special and systematic research on the senior executives is few, especial under the current Chinese environment. On the basis of the definition and relative literature review on the competency, the competency model for the Chinese senior executives has been discussed.The origin,definition,classify and research methods of the competency have been expatiated in this paper. Then, the research results about the senior executives'competency also have been reviewed. On the basis of the job analysis,job ads analysis of higher managers in China and correlative senior executives theory analysis, the scale of the competency of senior executives in Chinese companies was designed. After the survey, the SPSS13.0 statistical analysis software was used to make items analysis,factors analysis and reliability analysis on the sample data. Finally, the scale of the competency for senior executives in Chinese companies was established, composing input, process and output three dimensions. In this model, there are 14 essential factors and 50 items, which contain knowledge and experience, individual characteristic, self-control, expression ability, flexibility, analysis processing and persuading, efficiency and influence, capturing opportunity, the sense of responsibility, promises, synthesis management, strategic management, interpersonal management, hunting talent.The senior executives competency will be influenced by the company traits and social environment such as the company culture,the development stages of the company,the structure of the capital,the culture of the social and the stage of social. Finally, after the discussion about the influence factors, the application of the senior sxecutives competency model has been discussed based on the AHP.
